Affordable Connectivity Program and Viasat Deliver Quality High-Speed Internet Access to Eligible Households Nationwide – Parabolic Arc

CARLSBAD, Calif. (Viasat Inc. PR) — Viasat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT), a global communications company, today announced that it is providing discounted broadband satellite Internet service nationwide through the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) to eligible homes nationwide, including residences outside the cable and fiber footprint. ACP is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) benefit program that helps ensure households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more. The benefit provides a rebate of up to $30 per month on internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on eligible tribal lands.

While the CPA aims to provide affordable Internet options to every eligible consumer, many Americans have been unable to take advantage of this program due to a lack of availability of Internet services. Through its satellite technology, Viasat provides eligible consumers with Internet options across the country, even in the most difficult to reach places. Viasat has made all of its residential plans available through the ACP, providing current and future customers with choice and affordability to meet their needs.

Steven Mesnick, General Manager of U.S. Broadband at Viasat, said, “We understand the critical role that quality Internet plays in the daily lives of consumers for education, work, healthcare, entertainment, contact with loved ones and more. ACP is important because it offers eligible consumers the ability to access Viasat’s home Internet service at a discounted rate with speeds of up to 100 Mbps in select areas. One of our goals is to provide broadband speeds to consumers who previously did not have broadband options and our reliable broadband internet via satellite can serve households across the country, including those located in the regions the most remote.

Viasat is committed to providing more bandwidth, speeds and data to its residential customers. The company’s next-generation satellite constellation, ViaSat-3, is expected to be capable of delivering even greater bandwidth capabilities that will translate to more speed, data and streaming options. Viasat has received various consumer accolades, including being named the “Fastest Satellite Internet Provider” among Rural US Internet Service Providers (ISPs) by CNET and receiving Best Satellite Internet Speed designation by ZDNet .
