Clay County Conducts Internet Speed Test | Jax Daily Record | Jacksonville Daily Record

The Clay County Board of Commissioners and the state Department of Economic Opportunity are asking Clay County residents to participate in an Internet Speed Test.

Resident participation will help the state identify gaps in high-speed Internet service to advance the state’s broadband infrastructure expansion goals, according to a press release from the commission.

“A priority of the Board of County Commissioners is to extend internet service to all households in Clay County. I encourage everyone in Clay County to take the Home Internet Speed Test so we can get an accurate measure of current broadband service availability and determine precisely where improvements are needed,” said Wayne. Bolla, chairman of the board of directors, in the press release.

The speed test can be performed using any device with an internet or cellular connection. It takes less than a minute and will provide immediate results. Data collected during the test will be displayed on the Florida Broadband Availability Map in real time.

Those who have an internet connection only on their phone can select the option to “provide an address with no internet service available”.
