Delphi Automotive PLC announced it has made a strategic investment in an Israeli leader in signal processing capacity – a key catalyst for growing connectivity and computing needs in vehicles.

“The demand for increased connectivity, active safety and greater vehicle automation requires world-class signal and power distribution capabilities as well as a robust data management strategy,” said said Kevin Clark, President and CEO of Delphi. “Delphi’s vision is to activate the vehicle’s ‘brain’ and ‘nerve center’ through our leadership in computer and electrical architecture. This partnership strengthens our capacity in this space.

“The connected car is one of the world’s most remarkable innovations, and we are committed to providing the infrastructure necessary to realize its potential,” said Dror Jerushalmi, CEO of Valens. “By working with Delphi, Valens is in a better position to accelerate the adoption of HDBaseT Automotive as the technology of choice for in-vehicle connectivity. “

Valens is the developer of HDBaseT, the global standard for ultra-high definition video, audio, Ethernet and control data transmission. Valens showcased its HDBaseT Automotive technology to address the challenges of the connected car, including the increasing amount of bandwidth and wiring required for advanced infotainment and driver assistance systems.

Delphi and Valens will work closely together to advance in-vehicle connectivity solutions based on HDBaseT Automotive and Delphi technologies. To further support the business partnership, Delphi made a minority investment in Valens.
